Abstract

Continuing the series of interviews about research, scientific dissemination and Basic Education (EB) and,
as part of the celebrations of the 10 years of Revista Com Censo (RCC), in 2024, Pedro Demo is the second
interviewee of this edition RCC #37 and brings important reflections on the relevance of research as a
formative principle for the dissemination of knowledge and popularization of science.
Demo's trajectory is intertwined with the main reflections on the practice of research in EB that combine
academic sophistication and practical application in everyday school life, aiming to overcome gaps in the
production of theoretical and methodological knowledge of teachers. The interviewee also emphasizes the
relevance of journals as the necessary space to promote the use and sharing of research in Basic Education.
