Abstract

In 2023, law 10,639/2003, which establishes the mandatory teaching of “Afro-Brazilian history and culture” in the entire education network, completed 20 years. EAPE – Subsecretariat for Continuing Training for Education Professionals” promoted in 2023 the course “20 years of Law 10,639: history of Africa and the formation of the transatlantic world”, offered by teacher trainer Dr. Renata Nogueira. On the occasion, as course participants, the authors had the opportunity to learn about various contemporary African political/aesthetic/epistemic references, going against the epistemicide that perpetuates praxis in various educational spaces. “Anikulapo” was one of these references, analyzed by the authors in crosses with discussions about race and gender, from an interdisciplinary, Afro-referenced, multi-pistemic and/or intercultural teaching perspective in the classroom.
