Abstract

Teaching Art through Figure Theater
This text is an experience report of actions carried out in a rural school run by the Federal District's State Department of Education with students in the seventh year of elementary school. The actions were carried out in the third bimester of 2022 and aimed to investigate a set of diversified approaches used in Natural Sciences classes on the concept of ecosystems. Essentially, lectures, screenings of documentaries and the use of the game "Battleship: saving ecosystems" were used. As a motivational element for those students who had shown a lack of interest over the first two school terms, it was identified that they had a fondness for rap music, so a remix of the song "Da Ponte Pra Cá" by the group Racionais MC's composed by singers Mano Brown and Ice Blue in 2002 was used. Another point to highlight was the use of themes related to the students' experience. As most of them come from farms, ranches and settlements near the school and the practice of planting various crops, especially strawberries, is part of their daily lives, these themes were included in the discussions and in the digital game. Satisfactory results were achieved in terms of the participation of all the students in the proposed approaches, as well as the active participation of those who had shown a lack of interest at the start of the school year.
