Planting seeds and projecting dreams for homeless people at the Escola Meninos e Meninas do Parque

Abstract

The Planting Seeds, Designing Dreams project is part of the educational action of the Meninos e Meninas do Parque da Cidade School (EMMP) in Brasília (DF) and seeks to make each student aware of the importance of themselves, their responsibility towards others and the environment in which they live. The idea is for the students to be active agents in the process of growing the seedlings, from germination to harvesting. The temporalities of each stage: planting; germination; care; harvesting; make it possible to achieve simple objectives that take into account the dreams and perspectives of the students – the subjects of their stories who germinate like seedlings and flourish like plants.
