Abstract

The study aims to review the "Programa Educação com Movimento" (PECM), a program centered on including physical education teachers in kindergarten and Elementary Schoolsat the Secretariat of Education of the Federal District, focusing on the programobjectives. Among them is the expansion of children's bodily experiences with integrated and interdisciplinary pedagogical work between the pedagogue and the physical education teacher. The research design is documental, and its primary source is the PECM text. The analysis started byidentifying the axes that guided the program's goals and were developed in light of literature from the pedagogical field of physical education that addresses childhood. We evidenced that such objectives tend to coadunate the body culture of movement to an integrated and interdisciplinary approach, also articulating the school's role in forming social values. We observed that games and plays, typical childhood activities and standard content of the pedagogue and the physical education teacher might favor interdisciplinarity. Lastly, discussing the theory as it reflects in practice is imperative, given that theoretical foundation must guide pedagogical practice in daily life at school.
