The purpose of this article is to present, discuss and analyze the case study of the Portuguese language classes applied to verbal concordance, using an active methodology, at the Elefante Branco High School (CEMEB), public school in Federal District, in two 3rd grade classes. Thus, we will present and argue how was planned and implemented the knowledge topic of verbal concordance, through active-reflective methodologies conceived by Pilati (2024) and Ramalho (2012), with the elaboration of a game in deck format: the Verbal Concordance Deck in the Construction of Meanings. In this way, it is worth highlighting how this proposal can inspire strategies in the classroom to think about new pedagogical practices, with the aim of improving the teaching and learning of Portuguese as a mother language in Brazil. Therefore, there is an invitation for further research in order to contribute to Brazilian education.
