Abstract

The text sought to demonstrate the genesis and development of the Professional Master's Program in Physical Education on a National Network, ProEF, in particular the one installed at the University of Brasília (UnB). Through bibliographical and documentary research and using the method of social theory, the study reveals aspects related to the history of the beginning of the program, especially at UnB, and demonstrates the set of themes that have been the subject of investigation by professors at the Basic Education who participate in the program as student-researchers. The results demonstrate a trend of research that aims to overcome the paradigm of physical fitness in the school field and places on the horizon of investigative interests themes and research problems aligned with concerns of a critical nature. Observance of these findings as well as aspects project in auspicious ways the continuity of the program and its importance in the continued training of public school teachers.
