Financial education in the early years from the perspective of literacy and different types of literacy: the real, the possible and the necessary.

As an institution responsible for the integral formation of citizens, schools have a social duty to develop a system of knowledge, skills and values that support rational behavior in the face of socio-economic, cultural and environmental issues. This report presents a pedagogical experience carried out at the Sobradinho dos Melos Class School, in the Paranoá Administrative Region, Federal District, with children in the Early Years (Elementary School I) with financial education in the school space and daily life. The experience was based on the perspective of educating students financially beyond complex concepts such as interest, inflation and budgeting, in order to develop behaviors that allow them to lead financially healthy lives. Knowing how to make choices, waiting for the best moment to make an expense, being organized, distinguishing between what is wanted and what is needed are behaviors that should be developed from a young age, bearing in mind that in the later stages of childhood, many unwanted attitudes may have already been consolidated and it is more difficult to deconstruct them and then rebuild them properly.
