Abstract

The study aims to report a pedagogical experience focusing on electronic games in the Physical Education discipline, in a public comprehensive school in the city of Tocantinópolis - TO. With this, we carried out qualitative, field and interventional research, with 25 students from the 6th year of Elementary School as subjects. The pedagogical intervention was composed of a sequence of three classes, the first and second being intended for the thematization of two sports, surfing and football, based on “virtual” games, and the third for the (re)creation for the “real” plan other games listed by the students themselves. As instruments for recording information in the field, participant observation and field diaries were used. During the interventions, a significant adherence of participants in classes was identified, revealing a rapprochement between children's and youth cultures and media cultures, pointing to guidelines to be faced by school culture, in favor of more meaningful experiences in Physical Education classes.
