The world drawn by children

Abstract

This review aims to present the work "Il mondo disegnato dai bambini" by Tilde Giani Gallino, published in 2008 by Giunti, Italy. Throughout 269 pages, the author, a researcher in the field of developmental psychology, discusses children's drawings and the treatment given to this production throughout history. The methodology for writing the review involved reading the book in its original language, Italian, followed by free translations by the authors. This review contributes to research on childhood by presenting relevant historical sources on children's drawings and discussing the need for research methodologies that describe the contexts of the drawings' production in order to provide a basis for the analyses of the drawings.
