Afro-centered Curriculum Organization: Afrofuturism as an approach in the teaching of Physics

Abstract: This article addresses the analysis of physical thought in the structures that manifest Afrofuturism, aiming to produce scientific knowledge to promote the presence of law 10.639 in the high school physics curriculum. For this, the various manifestations of Afrofuturistic literature were traced, involving the subgenres: Mythology, Time Travel, Parallel Reality, Survival Horror, Science Fiction and Monster. It is clear that the production and implementation of this scientific knowledge in physics education, despite bordering on non-existence, satisfies several skills required by anti-racist methodologies in science education, and by official documents that regulate education. The current scenario, with less hierarchical degree in the anti-racist contents of Physics, shows the need to deal with these alternative epistemologies that have been made invisible throughout history, in search of an education that shows the knowledge of Afro-Brazilian diaspora subjects in physical thought. Promoting liberating and emancipatory education in the 21st century.
