AUTHOR GUIDELINES

Special Issue:  “Education as a Right: International and Multidisciplinary Perspectives”

                                                                                 

1. Originality and Publication Languages

All manuscripts must be previously unpublished and written in one of the following languages:Portuguese, English, or Spanish.

2. File Formatting Guidelines

 Please submit your texts in .doc/.docx (Word) format, adhering to the following the guidelines:

- Page size: A4, portrait orientation.

- Margins: 3 cm for the left and right margins; 2.5 cm for the top and bottom margins.

- Font: Recommended fonts are Times New Roman or Arial, size 12, with single spacing throughout the document.

- Quotations: Quotations longer than three lines should be indented by 4 cm. These quotes, along with footnotes, captions, and sources, should be formatted in a smaller font size (font size 10 is recommended).

Make sure to follow these formatting rules for a polished presentation of your work.

3. Types of Submissions and manuscript structure

a) Articles (4,000 to 8,000 words)

Title and subtitle (optional): The title should be centred on the title page, in bold, separated by a colon (:). The author should capitalise only the first word of the title. For subtitles, capitalise only proper nouns.

Abstract (in Portuguese, Spanish, and English): The abstract should summarise the objective, method, results and conclusions in a single paragraph of 100 to 250 words.

Key words: Include three or six keywords, capitalised and separated by a complete stop.

Recommended structure:

- Introduction: Provide an overview of the topic and outline the objectives.

- Development: This section may include a literature review (optional), description of the methodology, presentation of results, and a discussion of the data.

- Closing Remarks: Revisit the objectives, discuss limitations, and offer suggestions for future research. Avoid using quotations in this section.

- References: Must follow the ABNT NBR 6023 standard.

- Citations: Must follow the ABNT NBR 10520/2023 standard.

-  Tables, Charts, and Figures: Must follow the ABNT NBR 14724/2011 standard.

b) Case studies (2,000 to 4,000 words)

Case studies should be between 2,000 and 4,000 words and adhere to the same structure and guidelines as articles

c) Critical book reviews (1,000 to 2,000 words)

  • Title, summary and references should adhere to the same guidelines as those for an article.
  • Include details about the work under review, , such as the author, title, publisher, place, year of publication, number of pages, and the translator´s name if applicable);
  • Include information about the author´s life and highlight their other works.
  • Describe the structure of the work, such as chapters, sections, or parts.
  • Comment on the primary focus of the work.
  • Present an original critical analysis which clearly expresses the reviewers’ stance and perspective.

Observation 1: Interested authors are encouraged to access the latest edition of the Com Censo Journal online to review publication examples and formats.

Observation 2: When submitting their manuscripts, authors must include a note to the editor in the designated section of the OJS platform. This note should specify that the manuscript is intended for the special issue titled “Education as a Right: Multidisciplinary and International Perspectives”.
