A (re)construção social da deficiência para a compreensão de uma diversidade humana

Resumo

O presente artigo propõe uma discussão sobre a compreensão da deficiência, suas barreiras culturais na sociedade e os caminhos percorridos até o presente momento acerca do tema. Para isso, articula-se a defectologia de L.S.Vigotski, a partir da Teoria Histórico-Cultural e outros estudos sobre deficiência, os desability studies. A partir dessas perspectivas, compreende-se que é na cultura que o ser humano se constitui. Ao mesmo tempo em que a sociedade nos transforma, ela é transformada. Todo esse processo tem seu tempo histórico e importância na construção de novos paradigmas. Observa-se então que desenvolver enquanto coletivo significa refletir sobre a sociedade e reconstruí-la a cada dia. Nesse sentido, é primordial considerar questões socialmente construídas e seus reflexos, para discutir a necessidade de caminhar em direção a um lugar de emancipação humana e respeito aos direitos iguais, com o objetivo de estabelecer a igualdade social efetiva. Após a reflexão e debate sobre o tema, conclui-se que é preciso desconstruir barreiras culturais ainda existentes e aceitar a pluralidade do desenvolvimento humano, sem considerar o diferente como negativo. Além disso, a urgência em refletir como a sociedade compreende esses aspectos diz respeito ao entendimento de que é nela que se encontra a força transformadora da educação para além da escola, na vida.   Palavras-chave: Deficiência. The social (re)construction of disability to understand human diversity

Abstract: This article proposes a discussion on the understanding of disability, its cultural barriers in society and the paths taken so far on the subject. For this, LS Vigotski's defectology is articulated, from the Historical-Cultural Theory and other studies on disability, the disability studies. From these perspectives, it is understood that it is in culture that the human being is constituted. At the same time that society transforms us, it is transformed. This entire process has its historical time and importance in the construction of new paradigms. It is observed then that developing as a collective means reflecting on society and rebuilding it every day. In this sense, it is essential to consider socially constructed issues and their consequences, in order to discuss the need to move towards a place of human emancipation and respect for equal rights, with the aim of establishing effective social equality. After reflection and debate on the theme, it is concluded that it is necessary to deconstruct still existing cultural barriers and accept the plurality of human development, without considering the different as negative. Furthermore, the urgency to reflect on how society understands these aspects is related to the understanding that it is in it that the transforming force of education is found, beyond the school, in life.
