Gama, Nabuco e Patrocínio: suas lutas e seus conflitos

Resumo

O intento deste trabalho surge a partir das discussões desenvolvidas na Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF) no curso Inscrição da Racialidade no Pensamento Social Pós-Colonial Brasileiro, cujo objetivo era provocar reflexões sobre a racialização no pensamento social a partir de autores ao longo de vários períodos históricos no Brasil. Optou-se por apresentar três intelectuais abolicionistas a partir de suas ações, analisando os conflitos por eles vividos, cada um à sua época. Enquanto procedimento metodológico, recorreu-se a uma revisão da literatura e pequena descrição biográfica com o intuito de localizar, a partir dos discursos destes intelectuais e suas trajetórias, ações distintas mesmo tendo na abolição um tema comum de suas lutas políticas.

Gama, Nabuco and Patrocínio: their struggles and their conflicts

Abstract: The intent of this work arises from the discussions developed at the Fluminense Federal University
(UFF) in the course Inscription of raciality in Brazilian post-colonial social thought, whose objective was to provoke reflections on racialization in social thought from authors throughout various historical periods in Brazil. It was decided to present three abolitionist intellectuals based on their actions, analyzing the conflicts they experienced, each one in its own time. As a methodological procedure, it was resorted to a literature review and a small biographical analysis in order to locate, from the speeches of these intellectuals, distinct actions even having in the abolition a common theme of their struggles.
