Produção de encaminhamentos para a psicologia clínica: efeitos do racismo no contexto escolar

Resumo

A proposta desse trabalho é apresentar reflexões críticas acerca da produção de encaminhamentos dos alunos vítimas de racismo para a área da psicologia. Entende-se que esse é um dos efeitos do racismo que se perpetua nas relações escolares e nas diversas dinâmicas do contexto educacional. Aponta-se para os problemas que circundam a atuação do psicólogo ao receber esses alunos em consultório, uma vez que na maior parte das vezes as queixas motivadoras dos encaminhamentos camuflam a realidade do preconceito racial vivenciado e não refletem as manifestações do racismo na escola, que muitas vezes são as verdadeiras causadoras do sofrimento psíquico das crianças e jovens encaminhados para tratamento. Ilustra-se a discussão com dados de pesquisa em andamento cujas entrevistas foram realizadas em duas escolas públicas e demonstraram diferentes nuances dentro da mesma temática. Enfatiza-se a importância do olhar do psicólogo para as questões étnico-raciais e para os perigos de manter o problema aprisionado entre as paredes do consultório, ao se desconsiderar toda a rede de relações a ser movimentada quando diante de uma situação de racismo e da queixa escolar.

Production of referrals for clinical psychology: effects of racism in the school context

Abstract: The purpose of this work is to present critical reflections on the production of referrals from students who are victims of racism to the field of psychology. It is understood that this is one of the effects of racism that is perpetuated in school relationships and in the different dynamics of the educational context. It points to the problems surrounding the psychologist’s performance when receiving these students in an office, since most of the time the complaints motivating the referrals camouflage the reality of racial prejudice experienced and do not reflect the manifestations of racism at school, which they are often the real cause of the psychological suffering of children and young people referred for treatment. The discussion is illustrated with data from an ongoing research whose interviews were carried out in two public schools and demonstrated different nuances within the same theme. It emphasizes the importance of the psychologist’s view of ethnic-racial issues and the dangers of keeping the problem imprisoned within the walls of the office, when disregarding the entire network of relationships to be moved when faced with a situation of racism and school complaint.
