Ampliação do acesso à Educação Superior com Dispersão Geográfica: o caso dos ingressantes na UnB de 2002 a 2015

Resumo

O artigo investiga a dispersão geográfica dos ingressantes dos cursos de graduação presenciais na Universidade de Brasília (UnB). Utilizou-se o local de residência dos calouros ingressantes entre 2002 e 2015, a partir do CEP informado. Foram criados gráficos de dispersão geográfica por meio de bolhas proporcionais sobrepostas a mapas do DF, entorno e do Brasil a fim de testar as duas hipóteses sugeridas neste trabalho, de que houve aumento da dispersão interna (DF e entorno) e externa (estados brasileiros). Concluiu-se que as políticas de diversificação de forma de ingresso, ação afirmativa e ampliação de vagas por meio da descentralização dos campi universitários foi bem sucedida pois, atraiu estudantes de regiões mais diversificadas no DF e seu entorno, apesar do número de estudantes de outros estados na UnB ainda ser baixo.

Expanding access to Higher Education with Geographical Dispersion: the case of newcomers to UnB from 2002 to 2015

Abstract: The article investigates the geographic dispersion of those entering undergraduate courses at the University of Brasília (UnB). We used the place of residence of freshmen entering between 2002 and 2015, from the informed CEP. Geographical dispersion graphs were created using proportional bubbles superimposed on maps of the DF, surroundings and Brazil in order to test the two hypotheses suggested in this work, that there was an increase in internal (DF and surrounding) and external (Brazilian states) dispersion . It was concluded that the policies of diversification in the form of admission, affirmative action and expansion of vacancies through the decentralization of university campuses was successful because it attracted students from more diversified regions in the DF and its surroundings, despite the number of students from other states at UnB still be down.
